He has expertise in the areas of epidemiology, children's health, environmental health, and infectious disease. He has worked internationally in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, the Middle East and Puerto Rico.

Dr. Goodman's experience includes evaluating vaccine safety, designing FDA-mandated clinical trials, ascertaining the health impact of the Gulf War in the Middle East, evaluating the incidence of occupational asthma in the workplace, and performing microbiological assessments of food processing equipment. He has also conducted projects investigating the health effects of environmental contamination.

In addition to conducting original studies, Dr. Goodman is skilled in comprehensive literature reviews, including meta-analyses; he has conducted a review of cancers in relation to environmental exposures, a review of lung cancer among occupational exposures and a meta-analysis of studies on occupational cohorts.

Dr. Goodman has a number of publications resulting from his research studies and is affiliated with several medical organizations, including the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

Ronald D. Hood, Ph.D.
Professor Emeritus
Department of Biological Sciences
The University of Alabama
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
and
Principal, Ronald D. Hood and Associates,
Toxicology Consultants
Tuscaloosa, Alabama

For over 40 years, Dr. Ron Hood has conducted research and shared his knowledge of biology with students at The University of Alabama. Dr. Hood's research has focused on developmental and reproductive toxicology and the effects of environmental exposures. Dr. Hood has over 100 publications encompassing original papers, reviews, book chapters, and books, and is the editor of Developmental and Reproductive Toxicology—a Practical Approach (2006). Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in professional societies, including the Teratology Society and the Society of Toxicology, and has served on the editorial boards of science journals, including Toxicological Sciences.

Dr. Hood is a recognized expert in the field of developmental toxicology. He has served as an invited expert in science workshops and review panels sponsored by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, the U.S. EPA, the National Center for Toxicological Research, the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the Joint Research Center, European Commission, and ILSI/HESI. From 1983-1993 he served as a special consultant to the Environmental Health Committee of the Science Advisory Board to the U.S. EPA.

David J. Kent
Staff Scientist
Keller and Heckman LLP
Washington DC.

David J. Kent has over 20 years of professional experience in the areas of environmental toxicology, ecological risk assessment and product registration. He has addressed scientific, regulatory, and policy issues on chemicals, pesticides, wastewater discharges, and hazardous wastes for a wide range of domestic and international clients. David most recently has focused on compiling and evaluating data for the various worldwide High Production Volume chemical programs and assessing potential risk issues from newly emerged chemicals of concern.

David has authored or co-authored over 35 scientific publications and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is actively involved in regional, national, and international scientific organizations.

Jack Lebeau, M.D., FACC
Adjunct Faculty
Arcadia University
Glenside, Pennsylvania

Dr. Lebeau practiced and taught clinical medicine for 25 years and has boards in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Geriatrics. He served in the US Army Medical corps as a cardiologist at Fort Meade, MD. In addition he was a medical consultant to the Social Security Administration for 10 years and as a medical advisor to private industry. He has also served as a grant assessor for the Department of Education. He has spoken on environmental health topics for the EPA. Since retiring from clinical practice he has continued to teach and has concentrated on environmental health and public health issues including epidemiology. Interests include air toxics especially diesel pollution, diesel and chemical spills, port pollution and metal toxicity. He was appointed to Pennsylvania's Statewide Independent Living Council by Governor Tom Ridge and currently serves on the boards of Philadelphia Diesel Difference and Earthright.

He has had publications in toxicology and continuing research interests in metals. A primary concern is to facilitate projects in which industrial development can proceed effectively with safety for workers, the public and the environment.
